Fundación Esperanza Contigo, A.C. organized a back-to-school campaign called Mochilazo 2021 to benefit over 100 children and junior residents of orphanages in Tijuana, Mexico. This campaign comprised collecting backpacks and school supplies for the next school year, 2021-2022.

    The Mochilazo collect began in early July and ended in mid-August of this year. This initiative arose to motivate the children and young people of these orphanages and promoting education to generate better professional opportunities in their future. Since after this long year of virtual classes, some children have been affected by this situation, as well as their grades.

    This collect was possible thanks to the support of our network of volunteers and allies, 172 backpacks were collected and benefited 4 orphanages: Casa Hogar Belén, Casa Hogar Colina de Luz, A.C., Casa Hogar La Gloria, A.C., and Casa Hogar de La Esperanza.

    Additionally, we could reach many parts of Mexico with this campaign. We had the help of several newscasts, among them "Ciudad Tijuana" that published about the Mochilazo 2021 in its social networks. The message could cross the world, allowing us to receive donations from Mexicans living in Japan.

    Fundación Esperanza Contigo, A.C.'s mission is to transform the lives of children and young people in situations of abandonment, providing them excellent quality of life, ensuring their opportunities in the future, as well as their access to a good education and medical services.

    These activities show us every day that there is a great community in Tijuana, Mexico, and around the world with the desire and ability to help this sector of the population, we just need to generate the means to do it, and together, we can make the great change we all want to see.
